Chat For Change Programs
Our Mission is: to provide innovative and interactive programs which empower and enable young people to take action for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Our Vision is: a growing SDG Squad of empowered young people leading their friends and communities in conversation and taking action to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
We're out to grow our 'SDG Squad' - full of young people taking small actions to achieve the SDGs.
No registration forms, no membership fees and no email spamming! Our reward come in the knowledge that we are growing a community of global citizens who are not only aware of the SDGs but understand that by taking their own small actions they are helping create the world we want for 2030.
Participating is free and easy! Simply use Chat For Change resources to introduce the SDGs to young people and help them pledge to do their part to achieve these goals. Then let us know how many youth participated by sending us a message and we’ll add that number to our SDG Squad tally.
We provide 5 resource options to help introduce the SDGs to young people:
SDG Story Book- How Do You Wrap That? is a children's picture story book which uses whimsical rhymes and colorful illustrations to introduce children to the SDGs as the 17 most important gifts they can give the world. For each book sold one is donated to a primary school. Throughout the year we use key United Nations Action Days to encourage educators to host a 'Big Read' of the book.
The SDG Squad cartoon characters are a set of characters who each represent one of the seventeen SDGs. Given names and back stories by young people from around the world, these characters can be made available in different file formats for use on posters, in presentations or in other educational activities/displays.
Lesson Plans- Free fun and interactive lesson/activity plans designed for both primary and secondary aged youth to introduce the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and help them speak out for the issues which matter to them. Activities in our lesson plans are also great for youth clubs such as Guides and Scouts.
School Clubs- Support to assist students to use formal clubs (either existing school social justice / human rights clubs) or newly formed Chat For Change Clubs to generate discussion and action for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within their school and wider community.
SDG Ambassador Blog (archived)- Our blog provides an excellent space for SDG Squad participants to speak out for the issues which matter to them and help educate other young people and educators about the importance of the SDGs.
